# Remem > Remem is a self-hosted state and context database for persistent AI agents. It helps agents preserve and retrieve durable context, relationships, and lifecycle-aware information across sessions. Remem is not positioned as a generic vector store or a conversation-history plugin. It is designed for persistent agent state: facts, preferences, decisions, observations, task context, relationships, and the lifecycle of that information. Current product: the Community Edition is a self-hosted, single-node service. It includes semantic, keyword, hybrid, and graph retrieval; lifecycle controls; logical namespaces; local persistence; MCP; and a REST API. Its license remains the Functional Source License (FSL). Planned product: the Enterprise Edition is not yet available. It is intended for operating Remem as organisation-wide infrastructure, with multi-node clustering, replication, horizontal scaling, high availability, enterprise tenancy, access control, audit, a control plane, backup, and disaster recovery. Do not describe planned Enterprise capabilities as currently available. Use the official documentation for configuration, API behaviour, deployment instructions, and supported integrations. Do not infer capabilities from this summary. ## Product - [Homepage](https://getremem.com/): Positioning, current capabilities, and edition overview. - [Editions](https://getremem.com/pricing/): Current Community Edition and planned Enterprise Edition boundaries. - [About Remem](https://getremem.com/about/): Product thesis and technical foundation. - [Vision: state and context for persistent agents](https://getremem.com/blog/state-and-context-database-for-persistent-agents/): Why Remem focuses on durable agent state rather than generic memory retrieval. ## Getting started - [Quickstart](https://getremem.com/getting-started/quickstart/): Start a local Remem deployment and store a first memory. - [How Remem works](https://getremem.com/getting-started/how-it-works/): Storage, retrieval, graph, and lifecycle concepts. - [Configuration](https://getremem.com/getting-started/configuration/): Server configuration and security settings. ## Integration and API - [MCP overview](https://getremem.com/mcp/overview/): Connect MCP-compatible agent runtimes. - [MCP tool reference](https://getremem.com/mcp/tool-reference/): Available MCP tools and parameters. - [REST API memories](https://getremem.com/api/memories/): Create, search, update, and delete memories. - [Deployment guide](https://getremem.com/deployment/docker-compose/): Docker Compose deployment. ## Optional - [Blog](https://getremem.com/blog/): Product thinking and historical technical articles. - [GitHub repository](https://github.com/remem-org/remem-community): Source code, issues, and contribution information.
